Viral Marketing, Cheap Flights, and Cheap Servers
Sometimes viral marketing are done so poorly it shouldn’t be done at all.
I saw this news piece for cheap flights today: Thousands scoop up Jetstar’s $1 ticket offer and the news piece this morning mentioning the $1 ticket sales.
Went to Google, look for “Jetstar”, WTF no .co.nz site? Does the .com also offer NZ flights?
Clicked it, ah yes! It does offer NZ Flight.
Fiddled, mumbled, 5 minutes, looking for the cheap flights.
Grumble, grumble, starting to get furious. The website is crap!
Ah! Found it.
OK, set date, choose destination, click GO!
waited…
waited…
waited…
5 minutes…
waited…
Reclicked GO!
waited…
another 10 minutes…
Refresh, restart process, click GO!
waited…
another 5 minutes!
…NOTHING!
Next time, when doing viral things like this, FIX YOUR DAMN SERVERS FIRST!
The news piece shouldn’t be about Jetstar’s $1 flight. IT SHOULD BE ABOUT JETSTAR’S $1 SERVERS!!! (>_<)
