Project Lionheart – Lion’s Breath – Update

Update on the Turbo fix.

Supra is now running smooth, with 11-13psi turbo #1 and up to 15psi after turbo #2 kicks in at 4,000 rpm. That makes the car leaps forward and the accelleration exciting.

Replaced turbo #1 exhaust housing eliminates the hairline cracks around the wastegate too. Results: faster turbo #1 boost build and less whistling. Close examination at home revealed the crack went through to the inside, not just surface crack as we believed. I now keep this damaged housing for emergency spares.

Hopefully no accidental boost fuel cut (I think it’s around 18psi right?).

Soichi-San’s driving in traffic is most excellent. I tremble with humbleness at this masterful skill :-)

Still running abso-friggin-lutely rich. Waiting for SAFC Neo (backordered) and tuning. Hopefully within next 2 weeks.

Hopefully the turbo held out finely after the overheating incident yesterday (see my blown radiator post) :-|
